Scrappy Weekend

I had a great weekend scrapping with family on Lake Huron.  It is a beautiful place to be creative.  While we were there Jami Carlson of Jami Carlson Photography took some awesome photographs, including some of me with my ScrapRack.  I brought two of my bases with me and it really does make it really easy to unpack and repack my supplies.  I also realized that I keep my small scrap space way more clean because I just stick my leftovers right back in my ScrapRack when I am done with a page.

Please go to Jami Carlson's website to see more of her great work and to book a session for your family.

Join the 2013 Spring Cleaning Get Organized Challenge!

It's free and you will not regret it.  The videos air every Tuesday at 10:00am.  Sign up even if you cannot get on a computer and watch at that time.  All of the videos are recorded so that you can watch and rewatch any time that works for you.  A ScrapRack is not necessary for this challenge to help you out and Tiffany does not push the purchase of one at all.  She actually gives you other ideas to help you get organized.  You will not regret this.

Scrap Rack road trip to scrap camp!

Had an awesome time this weekend scrapbooking at Scrap Camp.  We have a great group and you cannot beat this view of Lake Huron.

I ended up taking two ScrapRack bases with me and about 2/3 of my full spinders.  I ended up using A LOT of supplies from them.  I even used a few new supplies I got in my goodie bag.  Now I don't have to incorporate those into my ScrapRack.

If anyone from scrap camp (or anyone else for that matter) reads this and is interested in learning more about or purchasing ScrapRack items, please use my affiliate link below so I can get credit for sending you to them.

You can also sign up for the organizational challenges webinar from this link. Thanks!

It is midwinter break for the kids and I am hopeful that I will get my new 2x4 Ikea Expedit assembled so that I can unpack my ScrapRack onto it this week.  My husband leaves for 5th grade camp next week and I have trouble sleeping when he is away so I may as well scrapbook and it is always easier to scrapbook when you are organized.

I will post the pictures of my Expedit/scrap rack holder when I get is all set up.

The Return of the Albums

When my husband purchased scrap furniture, I moved all of my albums to my scrap area which is in the basement.  I have found over the last 18 months or so that now no one looks at the albums any more unless they want to see something specific.  So, I put one of our book shelves that was not being currently used back in the livingroom and moved the completed albums back to their rightful location.  Lo and behold kids started looking at them again.

I have some empty shelves.  Two of them are going to hold Ikea drawers for all of the youngest daughter's art supplies so that she can use them on the work table under supervision.

I have a bunch of stuff to put away from the work table.  This is some ribbon and a gift tag that I rescued from being thrown in the trash.

Here is my completed scrap rack which will soon be disassembled so that the table can be removed and replaced by a 2x4 Ikea expedite shelving unit on its side.  It is not too late to join the ScrapRack 2013_Resolve_To_Get-Organized_Challenge.  It is only in week two and you can see the previous weeks webinar.  My mom listened to the first week.  I am excited to see if she can get her stickers organized.  She told me this was her biggest problem area.  You have to start somewhere.

That is the 4x4 Ikea expedite shelf which holds a bunch of scrapbooking supplies.  It needs to be cleaned up.  The purple boxes on the top hold memorabilia by year.  I am finding that I need a few more.  I really wish that they would fit on a shelf.

Pages in progress.  The wedding reception.

Here is a view of my whole scrap area.  It is just the right size for me (and a kid if they so choose).

The Calm After The Storm, ya right!

Now that the holidays have finished it is time to clean up the mess that is left behind.  My scrap area is also our wrapping area, so I have been putting all of the bows and bags and papers back in their appropriate place.

We went shopping at Ikea to purchase a new mattress, a night stand for a child, and a 2x4 Expedite for my scraprack so I can get it off the large table it is currently occupying.  It is a folding table and we might want to use it some time and the expedite will take up less space in general.  Now we just need to put it together.  Once it is completely assembled and my scraprack is reassembled and finish clearing off my scrap space I will post some finished pictures of my space.

Over the last week I have completed two scrapbook pages from my sister's wedding.  And, the ribbon was swiped from my daughter on her way to the trash.  Love using ribbon, especially free ribbon.  Why fill a landfill when I can fill a scrapbook?  I also used this "family" velum right out of my scraprack.  Would have not thought to use it except that it was super easy to find under my titles tab.

Now I am done with the wedding and moving on to the reception.  I have another super cute recycled ribbon I might have to use on those pages.
